The City has been notified by TCEQ that we are able to begin the process of putting the water filtration system online. They have approved a 120-day pilot study program and the City has contacted both the filter manufacturer and the chemical representatives to start this process. The filters should be fully operational by the first of the year to begin this pilot study.
City is still waiting on release from TCEQ for start up of filter systems.
On Tuesday, November 15, 2016 Napco Chemical Company will be at office around 10:00-10:30 am to discuss chemicals for water at Well #5 and also go over samples taken at all well sites two weeks ago.
On Wednesday, November 16, 2016 or Thursday, November17, 2016 Weisinger Well Company will be at Well #3 (Romero) to do more water samples to see if and how we move forward with this well.
City took 2 more samples and results were far below TCEQ requirements.
City still waiting to hear from TCEQ regarding the 30-day Pilot Program.
A fire hydrant was run over causing brown water. Flushing was done immediately and lines should be clean.
Project on Hwy 408 Water Tank is nearing completion.
TCEQ sent two people to take samples at the well sites in
preparation to start up the 30-day Pilot Program. City is waiting on information from TCEQ
to start up filters.
Small dirty water issue was due to two fires and a water
main break. Lines have been flushed and
cleaned up. Anyone with stained water
should call City Hall and City staff will flush area.
Romero Well has been televised and some problem areas were
found. Waiting on solutions from well
contractor. Should have information by
first of next week.
First set of quarterly test results have been received, and
they were all good.
SEPTEMBER 28, 2016 UPDATE
State came out Monday and did sampling. City is waiting on approval from TCEQ to start the 30-day pilot study on the filtration process.
Romero well has been televised and have located possible problems. A meeting will be held with the well people later in week to discuss areas and possible solutions.

ADOPTED PROPERTY TAX RATE
FOR THE CITY OF BRIDGE CITY,
On September 20, 2016 the City of Bridge City, Texas Adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate.
The tax rate will effectively be raised by 5.68percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $21.56.
