Filters are now online at Well #4 (City Hall) and Well #5 (Hwy 408)
APRIL 19, 2017
During the week of
April 24, 2017 and May 1, 2017 the City of Bridge City will be working with
Filtronics and Simco with the start-up of the Iron and Manganese filters.
During this process we will be doing some adjustments with chlorine and
phosphate and many cycles of backwashing. With the backwashing of
the system to clean the filters, the distribution system will have times of
discolored water. The city workers will be flushing around the Rachal
Ave. site prior to beginning this process to help minimize the discolored
water. The city workers will continue to flush day and night after the
system is brought up to help clean the distribution lines. Flush a cold
faucet in home for a few minutes before running a load of clothes, and if you
experience any problems with water, please call City Hall 409-735-6801.
Someone from the water department will come by your place of residence or
return your call if you leave a number. Thank you for your patience.
Please continue to follow-up on this website. When filters go online the City will be starting a flush program of the water distribution. We will be dividing the City into sections when flushing.
Engineers, and a TCEQ representative will be here to begin the start-up process
on the Filtration System Project on Monday, April 24, 201
TTHM (Total Trihalomethane) results are as follows:
66.9 and 57.5
taken on 3/15/17 at two different locations
The City will begin
steps toward starting the Filtration System Project on April 24, 2017. One contractor will be depositing the filter
media in the system, and another contractor will be finishing the piping to the filtration system.
Romero Well has now
been re-cased and the electrical contractor will be out this week tying the
well in so it can be put back online.
