OPERATING POLICY

BRIDGE CITY COMMUNITY CENTER

 

  1. Application for reservations must be made to the Bridge City, City Hall.  A deposit of $50.00 is required to hold a date(s) at the time application is made. The $50.00 deposit will be deducted from the total rental fee.  Cancellations should be made in writing not less than one (1) week before the function, or the deposit ($50.00) will be forfeited. Applicants must be 21 years of age.

 

  1. Each group using the community center shall be expected to sign a statement of damage.  This statement shall guarantee that any person/group reserving the building is responsible for damages to the building or equipment.  A refundable damage deposit of $400.00 is required.

 

  1. A refundable clean-up deposit of $150.00 is required.  This is to insure clean-up of the building.

 

  1. No building equipment will be loaned out.

 

  1. For alcohol related functions, an off-duty Bridge City police officer shall be present at all times during the dance and or/event.  The City will be responsible for making arrangements for an off-duty police officer to work the dance and/or event and the renter will be responsible for paying the fee to the officer.

 

  1. For teenage dances an off-duty Bridge City police officer shall be present at all times during the dance.  A minimum of eight (8) adults (25 years of age minimum) shall be present throughout the dance as chaperones in addition to the off-duty police officer.  The police officer is not considered a chaperone; the officer is present for security.  The City will be responsible foe making arrangements for an off-duty officer to work the dance and the renter will be responsible for paying the fee to the officer.

 

  1. An adult (21 years of age minimum) will be required to sign the liability agreement guaranteeing against damage to the building or equipment.

 

  1. Lessee is responsible for arranging definite times for rental.  When times are established, the following inspections will be scheduled:

a.                   Opening walk-through – Walk through of building with the lessee and a City representative held when building is opened.

b.                  Closing walk-through – Walk through of building with the lessee and a City representative held when building is closed and is required before deposit is refunded.

 

  1. Sales of any type are prohibited unless they are for the exclusive benefit of a 501(c)3 organization, School sponsored student organization, or a City of Bridge city sponsored event.

 

  1. Inflatable recreation devices are strictly prohibited unless their use is specifically approved by the City Manager of Bridge City and proof of liability insurance, covering the use of the recreational device and naming the City of Bridge City as an additional insured, is provided and approved in an amount sufficient to cover any injury as determined by the City Manager.

 

  1. Occupants shall not create an unreasonably dangerous circumstance by virtue of their use of the facility.  Such use is strictly prohibited and may result in the expulsion of all participants.

Functions that use the facility on a regular basis (i.e. weekly or monthly meetings) will be charged a contract fee.  The proper fees will be determined by the City Administration and will be based on criteria such as hours used, type of function and equipment used.

 

FEE POLICY:

 

1.                  All fees must be paid ten (10) days in advance of event to the cashier.  Checks should be made payable to the City of Bridge City.

 

2.                  Reserved times will be strictly adhered to.  No additional usage will be allowed unless paid for in advance.

 

 

MISCELLANEOUS:

 

A cleanup and damage deposit will be posted by person using the building.  If building is cleaned to City’s specifications, and if there is no damage to building or contents, deposit will be refunded.

 

When grounds are used, outside electrical usage will be paid by renter.

 

All functions using grounds will be required to furnish a Certificate of Insurance on behalf of the renter.  All functions that are sponsored or co-sponsored by the City of Bridge City are exempt from this requirement.
