Bridge City has a Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, an agent of the Orange County Emergency Service District # 2, serves Bridge City.  Average response time within city limits is less than 5 minutes The department consist of 40 + members.  Central Station is located at 330 Bland.

All persons who establish resident, or become engaged in gainful employment in Texas must register and title their vehicles in this state. Vehicles may be operated for 30 days, after which time immediate registration is required. Costs vary, depending on the vehicle's make and model. Newcomers to the state also may pay a title fee and a new resident fee in addition to the title registration. You must show proof of auto liability insurance, current Texas inspection and social security number.

You must show proof of automobile liability if new to the state, show registration tags. To be eligible to vote, you must submit to the County Tax-Assessor/Collector a completed voter registration application at least 30 days before an election. If you change your name or address, you must notify the tax assessor/collector's office 30 days prior to an election. You may vote in the precinct of a former address during the first 90 days after moving. You must vote in your precinct of residence.

Food commodities for low-income are given out the first Thursday of each month at the community center, 105 Parkside Drive. A private citizen group collects and distributes commodities. The community center opens at 8:00 a.m.
