PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION:

The City of Bridge City Planning and Zoning Commission is a nine member board appointed by the City Council as specified in the City of Bridge City Code of Ordinances, Unified Development Code, Section 15.  The Commission implements policies and ordinances that promote the orderly growth and development of Bridge City. The Commission processes requests for rezoning applications, site plans, subdivision plats, amendments to the City’s comprehensive plan, and provides support and recommendations to the City Council.

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets the fourth (4th) Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. as needed.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN AS REQUIRED BY CHAPTER 551, GOVERNMENT CODE, VERNON'S TEXAS CODE AS AMENDED, THAT THE BRIDGE CITY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION WILL MEET IN A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING WITH THE CITY COUNCIL ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2008, BEGINNING AT 6:00 P.M., AT THE BRIDGE CITY CITY HALL, 260 RACHAL, BRIDGE CITY TEXAS.

THE AGENDA OF THE MEETING WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

4.   PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL TO HEAR AND CONSIDER PUBLIC COMMENTS  ON A REQUEST FROM MICHAEL COLE FOR A ZONE CHANGE FROM R-1 (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT) TO C-3  (THIRD COMMERCIAL DISTRICT) ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT 760 FERRY DRIVE FURTHER DESCRIBED AS LOT 64 MORRIS #2.

At this time comments will be taken from citizens. All comments are limited to a maximum of three minutes for each speaker.

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT:

The Board of Adjustment is comprised of nine members (5 members and 4 alternates) appointed by the City Council to hear requests for variances to the zoning ordinance (i.e. setbacks, height, lot coverage, fence height and location) as specified in the City of Bridge City Code of Ordinances, Unified Development Code, Section 15.

The Board of Adjustments meets as needed.    

BUILDING STANDARDS COMMISSION:

The Building Standards Commission is comprised of three members and two alternate members appointed by the City Council to hold hearings regarding substandard buildings as specified in the City of Bridge City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 6 - Building and Building Regulations, Article III - Substandard Buildings. 

The Building Standards Commission meets as needed.
