Responsibilities
The City of Bridge City Code Enforcement and Inspections Department’s goal is to provide and maintain safe housing and public buildings for all citizens of Bridge City. Inspections are made to insure that commercial and residential buildings are safe and that all work performed is up to code.
Code enforcement includes but is not limited to:
- Accumulation of rubbish and/or trash on properties
- High grass and weeds
- Illegal dumping
- Junk and abandoned vehicles
- Removal of dilapidated structures
Complaints are generally received from citizens concerned about maintenance of a particular property. Generally, when a home is in a state of despair, there is excessive litter in the yard, the yard is overgrown, there is vegetation encroaching upon the sidewalk, or when unlicensed vehicles are parked on the property there may be a violation of one or more of the City’s ordinances.
If, after speaking with the neighbor about the situation, you can’t reach a resolution, call Code Enforcement at 409-735-6801 or email the Code Enforcement Officer.
